The financial leadership and accounting capacity your mission deserves.

CauseLedger builds a practical, disciplined finance function around the needs of growing nonprofits—not a generic bookkeeping package.

Core engagement

Fractional CFO + Accounting

A recurring partnership for nonprofits that need both day-to-day accounting execution and strategic finance leadership.

$4,000/month

Includes approximately 5 CFO hours and 20 accounting hours each month.

The engagement begins with a financial needs assessment to confirm scope, systems, reporting cadence, grant complexity, and any cleanup work.

Approx. 5 hours/month

CFO leadership

  • Monthly financial statement review
  • Executive financial summary and recommendations
  • Budget-to-actual analysis and cash-flow forecasting
  • Board and Finance Committee reporting support
  • Annual budget leadership and financial strategy
  • Audit preparation oversight and policy guidance

Approx. 20 hours/month

Accounting execution

  • Transaction review, coding, and journal entries
  • Bank and credit-card reconciliations
  • Accounts payable, receivable, and payroll accounting
  • Grant and restricted-fund accounting
  • Month-end close and balance-sheet reconciliations
  • Financial statements, schedules, and audit documentation

Scope stays intentional

Extra complexity is scoped and priced before it becomes a problem.

Additional CFO

$400/hour

For expanded strategy, Board work, major projects, and work outside the recurring allocation.

Additional accounting

$100/hour

For work beyond the agreed monthly accounting allocation or complexity introduced after onboarding.

Separately scoped projects may include cleanup, system conversions, historical reconciliations, audit remediation, policy development, major grant accounting work, or special Board projects.
